Growing up in a household with strong Ukranian roots (my mother's side), cooking and baking was always at the center of my Ukrainian family gathers. A passion for food was imbued in my early on with a family stall at the local farmer's market (St.Paul, Alberta) and growing fresh vegetables every year.
My recent forages in cooking over the past several years revolve around an exploration into authentic Korean and Chinese cusine.
Pastry Cook
Fort Edmonton Park (2016)Prepared a wide variety of desserts for the entire park. Personally planned, prepared, and served catered events of up to 40 people, assisted in catering events of up to 400 people.
Highlights:
Key holder + received large shipments of ingredients
Frequently prepared industrial sized quantities of goods
Had the opportunity to work as a line cook in the Hotel Selkirk during the later half of my placement
